Ever since rumors that your 'Sex and the City' prequel could possibly be hitting theaters sometime from now surfaced, it's been non-stop speculation about which young celebrities could fill the now-iconic roles of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte.

The latest name to join the list? Glamour "it" girl and Justin Bieber’s girlfriend Selena Gomez is reportedly being considered for a role, naturally.

The speculation comes straight from the 'SATC' creator herself, who revealed to the Daily Mail she would love to see the 'Monte Carlo' star play young Charlotte York if the prequel makes it to the big screen.

"You know, I have no idea... Casting is much like kismet. I am not going to get involved with this, but I was looking at many pictures of Selena Gomez recently and thinking 'she'd make a fantastic young Charlotte,'" Candace Bushnell said. "She's so pretty. We were like... gosh, couldn't she be great? Am I right or completely wrong? I am not an expert at that. If I say something like that, then the next thing I know, people are like, no!"

Yet one thing Bushnell, who just released the second 'SATC' prequel, 'Summer and the City, HA', knows for sure is that the early days of Carrie & Co. will come to life — one way or another.

"Definitely something on the screen," Bushnell said of the prequel. "Big and small screen."

The author remained quiet on rumors that Blake Lively could take on the role of a young Carrie Bradshaw but did discuss both 'SATC' movies starring the HBO crew.

"Love 'em," Bushnell said, adding that she won’t take credit for the films. "I wasn’t involved in the movies, but Michael Patrick King, who wrote and directed many episodes of 'Sex and the City,' they wrote and directed the movies and they're great."

Can you imagine Gomez stepping into young Charlotte York’s shoes?
