Vivienne Westwood Unveils Brand New Ethical Purse Collection
UK fashion designer Vivienne Westwood is once again using her talents for a cause. Known as one of the top vegan accessory makers according to W Journal, this week her Autumn/Winter 2011 collection was unveiled at Pitti Immagine in Florence for the Ethical Fashion Initiative of Africa. Along with new styles and exclusive designs, including sunglasses that are a must-have for Chi, the collection focuses on celebrating style while empowering women to make changes in their lives.
Exclusive to online retailer Yoox, "the range is handcrafted in Nairobi from 100 percent recycled materials, including roadside advertising banners and old canvas safari tents," Ecouterre reports. Additionally, Westwood and Yoox are working with the United Nations International Training Centre to create sustainable jobs while producing unique pieces that are also eco-friendly. The Ethical Fashion Africa Collection is available for purchase globally.
