Time flies, and the work from year XX to 2010 is about to come to an end. Looking back on the past year, we held hands and unwaveringly completed our tasks. There were moments of joy and helplessness, but through these experiences, we learned teamwork, responsibility, and commitment. From being unfamiliar at the start of our tenure to now becoming competent, every step has been written with one word - responsibility. For 365 days, the students in the sports department have insisted on leaving their warm beds early to check the morning exercises of each class; this is a responsibility. The daily health inspections are the responsibilities of the students in the health department; day after day, standing guard patiently in the cafeteria is also a responsibility. Because of the responsibility on our shoulders, Chen Si, the group leader of the dormitory discipline department in Building B, has persisted until now despite the constant withdrawal of group members and a severe shortage of manpower.
In the large family of the Student Union, because we understand the responsibility on our shoulders, we have more passion in our repetitive work. Under the influence of responsibility, the 15-minute patrols after lights out, the delivery of messages and newspapers by the cultural department during breaks, even though somewhat monotonous, can all become interesting tasks.
Throughout this year, we served as volunteers for the autumn sports meet. During this time, the members of the Student Union would continuously urge non-athlete students to leave the competition area, even when faced with various excuses and angry glances. Despite feeling both anger and frustration, we still greeted them with smiles. Moreover, this academic year, the life department had reinforcements - "Little Red Hats." Even though they could have relaxed slightly, they still endured hunger and stood guard until 12:25 before leaving.
Being punctual for duty is a responsibility; conducting serious inspections is a responsibility, and fully completing the tasks assigned by the group leader is also a responsibility. We have learned to take on responsibilities and strengthen our sense of responsibility within the Student Union. Perhaps today's responsibilities are not heavy, but only through the trials and accumulation of today will there be a great release tomorrow.
A year ago, we all came to the long-awaited Student Union with the hope of growing through practice and contributing through growth. I believe that after a year of work challenges, we not only understand responsibility and commitment but also appreciate the power of unity and cooperation.
The cultural department organized New Year celebrations, with clear divisions of labor among members. Those skilled in communication livened up the atmosphere, while the multi-talented performed programs. This collaboration left a deep impression on all teachers and students. I still remember how, during the sports meet, we held hands together to maintain order. That long chain symbolized unity, bringing our hearts closer together.
During the "Cultural Journey" on Qingming Festival, the students in the cultural department acted as sources of happiness, bringing laughter and joy to everyone, making this special cultural journey even more refined.
Reflecting on this experience, I find that I have changed in many small ways:
Firstly, I no longer sleep in in the mornings and am punctual for my duties. At the same time, I have learned from the study methods of top scorers in the college entrance exam shared by the Student Union on how to organically combine work and study, improving efficiency and achieving a win-win situation.
Secondly, through continuous exchanges with group members and leaders about my work, joys, helplessness, and difficulties, my verbal expression and social skills have improved.
Thirdly, we bravely entered other classes to record coordinates, dared to remind and advise noisy dormitories and classrooms during patrols, until the entire campus was filled with laughter.
Indeed, the year's efforts have been full of hardships. Here, I want to thank the early risers of the sports department, the diligent patrol of the study department, the meticulous inspections of the health department, the message distribution of the cultural department, the persistence of the life department in maintaining dining order, the campus patrols of the discipline inspection department, the moonlit vigilance of the dormitory inspection department, and the united spirit of the flag-raising team in achieving fifty meters of success. Day by day, step by step, we immerse ourselves in a colorful world.
One by one, we cross the boundaries of love.
We grow in practice.
Today's brilliance illuminates tomorrow.
In the Student Union,
Every day, every point, every step surpasses solitary joy.
Each time, each moment shares the youth of our years.
We contribute in our growth.
Our dreams are written by ourselves.
Finally, let us cherish this responsibility, this unity, this beauty of exchange and cooperation, and remember this year that we have walked together.
Thank you all!
