The Laughter and Tears of Thai Ladyboys

Algae

Always growing in an unnoticed corner,

Alone, sprouting green vitality.

Even if no one ever pays attention,

You are still full of smiles.

Though your growth has never seen sunlight,

Nor laughter or joy,

Yet,

You remain youthful and emerald.

Peonies proudly stand in the garden for thousands to admire,

Tall trees majestically tower in the forest for people to look up to.

But you can only crawl on the ground,

Never destined to bloom like dandelions in love. The roots say: "This journey will be long and arduous." Leaves ask: "Will this journey be sorrowful?" And it's impossible to grow tall.

Your backdrop of growth is always dark and silent.

But, in the forgotten corner where abandoned babies' stories (part two) unfold,

You continue to thrive luxuriantly,

Vigorously crawling on the ground,

With a smiling face,

Growing into the shape and form of a carpet,

Draping the earth with green attire.

The reason why you do this

Is because, during Spring Festival, you know,

Joy is a lifetime,

And so is sorrow.

It's because you know,

No matter what heaven gives you,

You should laugh and sing.

Only then will you have strength,

Only then will your life blossom.
