On the 26th, near the Dongling West Road and Shenfu Expressway toll booth, a traffic police officer was holding a mobile phone, clicking on its screen with an electronic pen. A driver who was being checked nearby stretched his neck to see what the police officer was doing.
"Your vehicle has no violation records, you may leave," the traffic police officer said after finishing his operation on the phone. "Your phone is advanced! It can also check traffic violations?" the driver asked. "This is not a phone, it should accurately be called a 'Police Communicator,'" the police officer replied.
According to this police officer, the "Police Communicator" has a special internet function. By logging into the "Shenyang Mobile Police Platform" and entering the police officer's badge number and self-set password, one can query drivers' and vehicles' violation information through the network.
It was introduced that before, for external duty traffic police officers to check traffic violation records, they generally had to contact their team and query through a computer, which was both slow and inconvenient. After being equipped with the "Police Communicator", they can anytime find all kinds of related data about vehicles and driver’s licenses, as well as information on illegal and fugitive vehicles.
If a driver commits a minor traffic violation for the first time in a year, the "Police Communicator" will provide relevant information to the on-duty traffic police officer, allowing the driver to avoid a fine and only receive a warning. Additionally, if a driver’s license accumulates up to 12 points, they shouldn't drive around on the streets anymore, because the "Police Communicator" will help the traffic police officer find the relevant record and seize the driver’s license.
Currently, frontline traffic police officers in Shenyang are learning how to use the "Police Communicator" in phases and batches. Within a few days, all frontline traffic police officers in Shenyang will be equipped with the "Police Communicator" while on duty.
