Super Pickle's Third Adventure: The Careless Hedgehog

That day, while walking on the road, Pickle remembered that a spider had hit him and became very angry. He decided to practice the Shaolin Monks' Iron Head technique. Mimicking the monks, he ran and collided with a tree beside the road. However, he used too much force and immediately fainted after hitting the tree. A hedgehog passing by found him unconscious and carried him to the hospital.

While still unconscious, Pickle suddenly felt a sharp pain all over his body and woke up. When he opened his eyes, he realized he was on the hedgehog's back and insisted on getting down to walk himself. Unexpectedly, the hedgehog refused firmly, saying his head was already injured, and if he fell again, it could be worse. So, the hedgehog insisted on carrying him back home. Unable to reject the hedgehog's kindness, Pickle endured the pain and let the hedgehog carry him home.

As soon as the hedgehog left, Pickle couldn't help but scream in pain due to the pain all over his body. His mother, Mama Pancake, came over and was shocked when she saw him. "Pickle, why are you full of thorns?" Mama Pancake asked. "These aren't mine; they're the hedgehog's. Please help me remove them," Pickle replied. Uncle Big Belly handed Mama Pancake a pair of tweezers, and she started pulling out the thorns. However, since the thorns were deeply embedded, every time Mama Pancake pulled one out, Pickle screamed in pain and jumped. She couldn't hold him down, so the process was slow. By midnight, they hadn't finished yet, and Mama Pancake was exhausted. While pulling the thorns, she complained, "Look at this hedgehog, how careless! I don't know whether he is helping us or harming us."

"Mom, how can you say that? The hedgehog did it out of kindness. We should thank him tomorrow," Pickle said.

The next day, Pickle and Mama Pancake brought gifts to thank the hedgehog. Upon entering the hedgehog's house, they found the hedgehog lying in bed looking even more like a hedgehog because most of his spines were broken or bent, looking droopy. Seeing this, Pickle felt extremely sad. He knew the hedgehog's spines had broken off on his body, causing this condition.

The hedgehog's mother brought over chairs for Pickle and Mama Pancake to sit on. However, just as Pickle bent over to sit, he jumped up because his stomach was swollen and sitting hurt. Seeing Pickle in such a state, the hedgehog's mother began scolding her son, "You clumsy hedgehog, knowing what you look like, you still weren't careful. Always trying to help but ending up hurting yourself and others."

"Why did I have to carry Brother Pickle? It's because we both look ugly and are looked down upon by others. That's why I didn't care about breaking my spines and carried him," the hedgehog replied.

"By the way, Pickle, why did you faint on the road?" the hedgehog's mother asked. "He wanted to practice the Iron Head technique but didn't know how, so he ended up knocking himself unconscious," the hedgehog explained.

"My child, I thought you fell accidentally. Our family is too poor; otherwise, I would have sent you to learn martial arts no matter what," Mama Pancake said, wiping her tears.

"I've made up my mind. I'll buy a book and practice slowly after school from now on."

"As long as you're happy, anything goes, my child," Mama Pancake said.
