Symantec's General Manager of the China Consumer Products Division, Huang Zhihua
【eNet Silicon Valley Dynamics Information Center News】Recently, Norton released Symantec's sixteenth Internet Security Threat Report and invited a few media outlets, including eNet Silicon Valley Dynamics, to have an in-depth discussion on mobile phone security issues.
According to Symantec's sixteenth Internet Security Threat Report, there were five main trends in internet threats in 2010: targeted attacks, social networks, hide and seek, a surge in attack toolkits, and threats to mobile devices.
With the rise of mobile internet, security threats to mobile devices are becoming increasingly severe, and data security issues for mobile devices have become a widely concerning issue. After the release of the security report, Huang Zhihua, General Manager of Symantec's Consumer Products Division in China, communicated with a few media outlets, including eNet Silicon Valley Dynamics, on mobile phone security issues.
Huang Zhihua stated that according to Norton's recently released "Norton Mobile Security Survey 2011", 74% of adult users in China have suffered from lost or stolen mobile phones. Currently, there is a lack of effective means to securely protect mobile phone data, and the demand from users in this area is very urgent.
Norton has launched the Norton Mobile Security 1.5 beta version for the Android system, which has been downloaded over 140,000 times on Android Market, receiving four-star reviews.
Huang Zhihua stated that the official version of Norton's mobile security product has not yet been launched, but significant preliminary investments have already been made, hoping that the product can be launched as soon as possible in China and globally.
Regarding the user experience of mobile security products, Huang Zhihua said that computer security, data security, and system optimization have always been Norton's three key areas of focus. When designing mobile products, good support for system performance has always been a concept upheld by Norton.
