[Special Topic] Choosing an Auspicious Wedding Day with Astrology

(I) First, consider both parties' natal charts (if available)
1. Selecting an auspicious wedding date is less urgent for couples whose natal marriage chart is already favorable. Those with average or unfavorable natal marriage charts should pay more attention, as it can at least mitigate potential harm.
2. The condition of planets related to marriage symbolism in the natal chart should be considered: the Sun (symbolizing males), the Moon (symbolizing females), Venus (symbolizing love and marriage), the ruler of the 1st house and any planets within it, and the ruler of the 7th house and any planets within it (refer to the appended table for planetary conditions).
(1) Ideally, these planets should be in their domicile or exaltation.
(2) Avoid planets located in the 6th, 8th, or 12th houses.
(3) Even if the above two conditions are not met, if two planets are mutually in each other's domicile or exaltation signs, this can still enhance the positive effects.
(4) These relevant planets should ideally form good aspects, especially with benefic planets (Venus, Jupiter, Moon), and avoid forming aspects with malefic planets (Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto).
3. Comparison Chart between the Two Parties
(1) Ideally, planets associated with marriage (such as the Sun, Moon, Venus, rulers of the 1st and 7th houses) should form harmonious aspects between the two parties.
(2) Both parties' Moons should not be in opposing signs (e.g., Aries-Moon vs Libra-Moon, Taurus-Moon vs Scorpio-Moon).
(3) If one party's Moon is above the horizon (i.e., in houses 7-12), they will tend to maintain harmony in the relationship. If both parties' Moons are above the horizon, even after separation, reconciliation may occur (this point is for reference only and cannot be generalized).
4. For detailed analysis of natal charts, comparison charts, composite charts, etc., it is best to refer to corresponding specific materials, which is not the focus of this article.
(II) Factors to Consider When Choosing a Wedding Date:
The so-called wedding chart is the astrological chart drawn up for the exact moment of your wedding. For example, if you get married at 15:00 on August 10, 2010, then the chart for that time is the wedding chart. The main purpose of this article is to teach us how to choose a good time to get married, making marital life happier, more stable, and reducing harm for those with unfavorable natal marriage charts.
(Note: In the context of national customs, both the time of receiving the marriage certificate and the start of the wedding banquet can be used as the wedding chart. I have verified that both generally align with actual situations.)
(1) In the wedding chart, the state of the Moon is crucial. It must remain in a good state and not be damaged. Refer specifically to the following points:
a. The Moon should not be in its detriment or fall, such as in Scorpio or Capricorn.
b. It is preferable to hold the wedding during the Moon's increase phase (from New Moon to Full Moon, between the 1st and 15th day of the Chinese lunar month).
c. The Moon should not aspect malefic planets (Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto), even harmonious aspects should be avoided. If unavoidable, choose a time when the Moon is separating from the aspect rather than applying to it. Preferably, the Moon should form beneficial aspects with benefic planets (Venus, Jupiter).
d. Avoid placing the Moon in the 6th, 8th, or 12th houses.
e. Influence of the Moon in different zodiac signs on marriage (the Ascendant or Venus in these signs can also be referenced):
◇ Aries — Unfavorable
◇ Taurus — Last 10 degrees unfavorable. Best to select the middle 11-20 degree range.
◇ Gemini — Last 15 degrees unfavorable. (Note: There is some disagreement among consulted astrologers whether the first or last 15 degrees are unfavorable, but more support exists for the latter.)
◇ Cancer — Favorable for remarriage, unfavorable for first marriages.
◇ Leo — Favorable for marriage. However, there may be tendencies towards wastefulness with finances or deception regarding property.
◇ Virgo — Favorable for remarriage, unfavorable for first marriages.
◇ Libra — Favorable for expressing love, proposing, and engagements, but not for formal weddings.
◇ Scorpio — First 15 degrees favorable (but preferably for first marriages or marrying women of lower status or conditions than the man). Last 15 degrees unfavorable for marriage. (Ascendant should preferably not fall in Scorpio.)
◇ Sagittarius — Neutral, neither particularly auspicious nor inauspicious. But the couple will experience many changes and fluctuations.
◇ Capricorn — First 10 degrees unfavorable, last 20 degrees (11-30 degrees) favorable for marriage but with fewer children. Last 20 degrees preferably for remarriage or marrying women of lower conditions than the man.
◇ Aquarius — Unfavorable for marriage, leading to a strong and non-compliant wife (PS: This point may not necessarily be disadvantageous when viewed in the context of modern times...)
◇ Pisces — Favorable for marriage. Makes the wife likable, but she may also talk a lot. (This point sometimes manifests positively as frequent phone contact and conversation between the couple.)
◇ Supplement — Since the Ascendant represents the overall stability of the marriage, it is best if it falls in fixed houses (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, though Scorpio should preferably be avoided, and Sagittarius is also acceptable, just with more changes.)
(2) In the wedding chart, the 1st house and its ruler, the Sun, and the Moon’s last aspecting planet symbolize the groom. The 7th house and its ruler, Venus, and the Moon’s next aspecting planet symbolize the bride.
(3) Try to ensure that the planets and houses mentioned in (2) are in good condition (refer to the standards mentioned in “I-2”). If unavoidable afflictions exist, try to minimize their impact (for example, if a malefic aspect occurs, choose a time when the planet is separating from the aspect, or let benefic planets separately aspect the afflicted planets; or allow two poorly positioned planets to mutually dignify each other).
(4) The 10th house, its ruler, and any planets within it, along with planets aspecting the 10th house cusp or ruler, indicate events that will happen between the couple, regardless of being auspicious or inauspicious. The 4th house, its ruler, and any planets within it, along with planets aspecting the 4th house cusp or ruler, symbolize events and outcomes within the marriage. Of course, it is preferable to choose a time for marriage that enhances the positive and reduces the negative influences.
(5) Compare the wedding chart with the natal charts of both parties to see the feelings and impacts of the marriage on each individual.
(III) Effects of the Wedding Chart on Children:
(1) In the wedding chart, Mercury serves as the primary symbol for children, while also considering the condition of the 5th house and its ruler.
(2) Mercury/5th house ruler should not be in its detriment or fall (see the appended table), should not be in inauspicious houses (4th, 8th, 12th houses, as the 4th house is the 12th house of the 5th house), should not aspect malefic planets (if unavoidable, choose a time when the planet is separating from the aspect), and should preferably not aspect planets in their detriment or fall (even if they are benefic planets).
(3) Mercury/5th house ruler should ideally aspect benefic planets or be in fertile signs (Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio).
(4) If there is a benefic planet near the 10th house or Midheaven, the couple will likely conceive soon after marriage (assuming they want to).
(5) If the ruler of the 10th house is in the 9th house, the couple will not conceive in the first month.
[Appendix Table] Planetary Conditions
(Domicile and Exaltation are auspicious, Detriment and Fall are inauspicious. If two planets are mutually in each other's domicile or exaltation, this is called mutual reception and also enhances positivity.)
