If I don't say, can anyone guess what this picture is?
I reckon most people wouldn't be able to tell what this thing is. Is it a mischievous child's random doodling? Or a practice piece from a beginner graffiti enthusiast? Or is there really a place overgrown with weeds like this?
If I say that this is the legendary famous Google logo, would you believe it?
Hey, big brother, your glasses are right here. It's the Year of the Ox now, and all sorts of incredible events will happen. This really is Google's logo, and it's today's logo - an effective method to alter face shape.
When I opened the Google homepage today and saw this logo, my first feeling was that Google had been hacked. Because I thought, Google couldn't possibly use such a logo, as the main function of a logo is to serve as a graphic marker distinguishing it from other websites. But can you associate the image above with Google in any way?
Upon clicking, I realized (see the image below) that I was wrong. Google is just fine. It turns out this was to commemorate Jackson Pollock's birthday.
Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) was an American abstract expressionist painter. He was a symbol of the new American painting movement after World War II on a global scale. He was a pioneer of abstract expressionism and one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, known for his technique of dripping paint onto canvas in a very spontaneous manner, creating unforgettable natural qualities in his works.
It turns out that Google is also playing with post-modernism. I admit, I'm outdated. To prove my normalcy, I've decided to study hard and hold on to the tail of fashion forever and ever.
Because I definitely cannot be as shocking as Google. Even if I want to shock people, I have to be a little better than Google. (Liu Xingliang)
