Tencent Entertainment News: On April 7, the main cast of the workplace blockbuster "Du Lala's Promotion," which is set for nationwide release on April 15, including Xu Jinglei, Huang Li-xing, Karen Mok, Vivian Wu, and Li Ai, arrived in Shanghai to promote the film. Even before its release, the hype surrounding the movie and the off-screen rumors have become a focal point of public attention. Xu Jinglei and Huang Li-xing were rumored to have blurred the lines between acting and reality in the film. In response, Xu Jinglei remained silent: “Whatever is said will eventually change into something else.” Regarding the topic of hype, Xu Jinglei calmly stated: “Nowadays, which show doesn’t carry the suspicion of hype? For me, there are good and bad aspects of hype. I don’t set any limits, but anything that touches the law is unacceptable.”

The passion scenes in the movie version of "Du Lala's Promotion" are adapted from the namesake novel, which is considered a "must-read guide for white-collar workers." Although the workplace is the primary theme, the movie emphasizes the romantic storyline. The triangular relationship among Wang Wei (Huang Li-xing), Du Lala (Xu Jinglei), and Rose (Karen Mok) clearly forms the main thread throughout. Especially, the romance between Huang Li-xing and Xu Jinglei draws significant attention. Based on previously released stills, the passionate scenes between Xu Jinglei and Huang Li-xing have taken center stage, becoming the headline news across various media outlets. Xu Jinglei's fully exposed back scene marks her most daring performance since she entered the industry. Regarding this much-discussed passionate scene, Xu Jinglei expressed some helplessness: “Everyone is discussing this scene, but I think the level is acceptable. Moreover, I personally wouldn't shoot overly explicit scenes. Additionally, during the review process, this segment was retained, so it’s not particularly special.” However, the media's focus on the passionate scenes may lead audiences to have biased thoughts while watching the movie.

Hype has both positive and negative sides

Before the release of "Du Lala," the heated discussions about Xu Jinglei and Huang Li-xing breaking boundaries with their passionate scenes and the rumors of them developing real feelings had already captured media attention. When asked about these topics, Xu Jinglei shared her understanding of so-called hype: “As a director and actor, I need to take responsibility and handle many things, but I can't manage everything. Frankly speaking, I'm still unclear how those promotional photos were leaked beforehand. Can you say it was intentional?” As for whether the hype was to boost box office sales, Xu Jinglei remarked: “This kind of hype is now too common; many shows use rumors and passionate scenes to promote and stir up hype. Does that mean the box office will definitely be good? Hype still has both good and bad sides, and not all of it works. Personally, I won’t set any restrictions as long as it doesn't violate the law—that's my bottom line.” Regarding the rumors between her and Huang Li-xing, Xu Jinglei firmly stated: “Now I won't say anything more; whatever is said will change anyway.” As for her current relationship status, Xu Jinglei admitted that she is currently in a good state.

Karen Mok denies rumors with Zhang Yadong

In the movie "Du Lala," besides the rumors involving Xu Jinglei and Huang Li-xing, Karen Mok also didn’t escape the media's inquiries. When asked about the rumors with renowned music producer Zhang Yadong, Karen Mok awkwardly explained: “I’m not sure about this matter. Could it be that you've made a mistake?” When the media brought up the news where the two were photographed dining together by a weekly magazine, Karen Mok did not elaborate much: “It was just friends having dinner; I eat every day.” Since then, when the media asked about her current romantic life, Karen Mok frankly admitted that relationships cannot be forced—if it's meant to be, it will happen naturally.
