In recent years, the city has made efforts to improve its tourism infrastructure. By raising funds through multiple channels, it has focused on the planning and construction of major scenic spots, enhancing the quality of the tourism city. They invested 11.7 million yuan in constructing new facilities such as the main entrance and square of the Xishan Scenic Area, Jinshui Bridge, and the Nine Dragons Playing with Water Fountain, spent over 20 million yuan renovating and expanding Longhua Temple and Xishi An at Gui Ping's Xishan, allocated between 30 to 50 million yuan for building the relic pagoda of Master Kuannon and the tea culture corridor, and invested more than 10 million yuan in developing tourist facilities such as the tourism road, viewing pavilion, guesthouse, and swimming pool at the Longtan National Forest Park. Simultaneously, by integrating tourism resources, they developed attractions like Datiengxia Yusi Cave, Tonggu Chong, and Jinyin Tan; through attracting investments, they constructed and put into operation high-end hotels like Rushan Jing Hotel and Yuyang International Grand Hotel. With the gradual improvement of tourism infrastructure, Gui Ping successfully obtained the qualification as a "National Geopark," Xishan became a national 4A-level tourist attraction and one of the "Top Ten Best Places to Visit in Guangxi," Longtan National Forest Park was rated as a national 3A-level tourist attraction, and Rushan Jing Hotel became a four-star tourist hotel.

The vigorous development of the tourism industry has also driven the rapid and sound development of related industries such as transportation, commerce, telecommunications, accommodation, catering, entertainment, and real estate within the entire city. In the first three quarters of 2009, the city achieved a value-added output of 2.595 billion yuan from the tertiary sector, with a total retail sales of consumer goods amounting to 3.857 billion yuan, representing year-on-year increases of 13.7% and 21.5%, respectively.
