Business News (Reporter Hongwei Wang, Correspondents Haiming Feng and Heming Qiu) - The aftereffects of last year's incident in which police officers were assaulted near Zijin Mountain in Zhengzhou have not yet subsided. On April 22 this year, another case involving a slap to a police officer occurred.

A driver was found driving under the influence and going against traffic, leading to his vehicle being stopped by the police. Upon exiting his car, the driver slapped a police officer across the face. The outcome of this incident was almost identical to the previous one. Lü Li (a pseudonym), a woman from Shandong Province, was sentenced to six months in prison by the Intermediate People's Court of Zhengzhou for committing the crime of obstructing official duties.

The sequence of events was strikingly similar. In the early hours of April 22, two police officers on duty at the intersection of Changjiang Road and University Road noticed a silver-gray car with Shandong license plates violating traffic rules by driving in the wrong direction. The two officers immediately approached and stopped the car.

Unexpectedly, a young woman emerged from the car, reeking of alcohol, yelling and causing a commotion. When the police officers pulled out a ticket, the woman began cursing and shoving them. The two officers called 110. At that moment, the woman raised her hand and slapped one of the police officers across the face.

Minutes later, 110 officers arrived and subdued the woman. Her name was Lü Li, and she was from Shandong Province. That day, she was criminally detained on suspicion of obstructing official duties. After reviewing the case, the Erqi District People's Court ruled that Lü Li had used violent methods to hinder state officials from performing their duties lawfully, thus committing the crime of obstructing official duties. She was sentenced to six months in prison in the first-instance trial.

After the first-instance verdict was announced, Lü Li regretted her actions and appealed to the Intermediate People's Court of Zhengzhou, arguing that the sentence was too severe. The Intermediate People's Court upheld the original judgment.
