Since the Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government convened the mobilization conference on the construction of "Green Yancheng" and the creation of a garden city, various places in our city have quickly taken action. Through high goal pursuit, strong implementation, and comprehensive promotion, we are boldly outlining the beautiful blueprint of "Green Yancheng".
Since last winter, all areas of our city have adhered to the scientific development concept as guidance, with improving forest coverage as the goal, resource cultivation as the foundation, and reform and innovation as the driving force. We have implemented potential tapping and increment increase along with quality improvement and efficiency enhancement, while simultaneously improving the ecological environment and promoting farmers' income growth and prosperity. Funing, Dafeng, Dongtai and other places have organically combined afforestation with rural environmental remediation and rural structural adjustment. All low-lying and easily flooded plots, newly dredged river embankments are entirely used for afforestation, and methods have been formulated to raise afforestation funds through multiple channels, such as subsidies from town and village finances and self-raising by the masses. At the same time, various places in our city have also increased investment, fully creating a garden city, and building green towns. For key villages, the "five ones" project is implemented: a shady avenue connecting the town to the village, a park-style road in the town area, a riverside green belt, a forest green space, and a street corner park.
