Nike has launched a new FIFA logo for African competitions, including the identification of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and its emblem, under the leadership of club and international logos. The new emblem retains the original yellow-green two-tone colors, keeping the central part of the old emblem which features a football and the golden map of the African continent surrounded by unique geometric patterns in an African style. Below the emblem, the CAF initials are retained.

With the launch of this emblem coinciding with the 2009 African Nations Championship, the 2010 African Nations Cup, the 2009 Youth Championship, the 2009 Champions League in Africa, and the UEFA Cup in Africa, the logo on these emblems maintains the same style and characteristics as the CAF emblem.

The years 2009 and 2010 were very important for African football, with the 2009 Confederations Cup and the 2010 World Cup held in Africa bringing attention to this land. At this time, the CAF also chose to launch a new logo, presenting a new image to the world.
