A boarding school girl sneaks out for a date and tragically dies after giving birth at a lodge.
Ms. Liu has been in deep sorrow over the death of her daughter for more than half a month since returning from Shenzhen to Wuhan. Speaking about her daughter, Ms. Liu chokes up several times.
She introduced that their hometown is in Songzi, and she has been working in Shenzhen. Her daughter, Xiaomei (a pseudonym), was 17 years old and in the third grade at Hubei Shida Practical Foreign Language School. She had an outgoing personality and was usually obedient. Ms. Liu almost spoke with her daughter every week to inquire about her studies and life.
At around 6 PM on November 14, while she was at work, she received a call from the Wuhan police: "Something happened to your daughter." In a rush, she flew back to Wuhan and only saw her daughter's cold body at the funeral home, alongside a stillborn baby.
Ms. Liu stated that the school explained that on the evening of Friday, November 13, Xiaomei left the campus without permission before class ended and didn't return for evening study on Sunday. "The school is under closed management. How could the school not bear any responsibility for what happened to my child? For such a long pregnancy, how could no one at the school notice?"
In response, Principal Fan of the school entrusted lawyer Zeng from the school to express their views. They believed that the school had no management faults whatsoever. "Although the school claims to be under closed education, students are free during the time from weekends until Sunday evening study."
Regarding Xiaomei's cause of death, the police forensic doctor determined it to be complications from childbirth, including pregnancy-induced hypertension, amniotic fluid embolism, and massive bleeding.
According to information obtained by the reporter, the person who called Xiaomei for a date and booked a room at the Xudong Lodge was a 19-year-old man surnamed Huang from Xiantao. According to his later confession to the police, while they were together, Xiaomei suddenly started convulsing and exhibited terrifying pre-labor signs. However, neither of them realized it was labor, and they panicked, unsure of what to do. Due to fear, he abandoned Xiaomei and fled, taking her phone along with him.
It is understood that the police have not yet determined whether Xiao Huang is suspected of any crime, but he has been criminally detained.
