Our Yancheng is a city named after salt. Since ancient times, salt culture has always been the main body and essence of our Yancheng culture. Last year, under the suggestion of CPPCC members, the construction of China Marine Salt Museum officially started, which will give us an ideal platform to comprehensively display Yancheng's salt culture. More than 2000 years of marine salt industry development has left a rich historical accumulation for Yancheng, and imprinted a heavy historical mark. Building a marine salt history and culture museum has long been the cherished wish and pursuit of more than eight million people in Yanfu, and has also become the goal that all sectors of our Yancheng strive for.

On August 10, 2007, with the continuous rumbling sound of bulldozers by the Chuanchang River, the construction of China Marine Salt Museum, formally approved by the State Council, officially began in our Yancheng, which means that the long-cherished hope of the people of Yancheng has finally come true. According to reports, the entire building was designed by Academician Cheng Taining, a famous engineering academician of our country, with a total investment of about 1 billion RMB, and a construction area of nearly 20,000 square meters. After completion, the venue will be divided into four floors, one underground and three above ground. Currently, the first stage of construction tasks has been basically completed.
