Recently, some villagers in Yandian Village, Linhai Town, Sheyang County reflected that there had been no water supply for half a year in the homes of villagers in two groups of their village, but no one was willing to help solve it. Yesterday afternoon, a reporter came to Yandian Village and after a round of visits, found that the faucets in many villagers' homes had long become ornaments. With their own taps not in use, the villagers once thought of some emergency measures. They dug up the tap water pipes in several places in the village and set up public water collection points, so there appeared such a situation that the villagers were queuing up for water, but this situation did not last long, now there is not a drop of water, human prevention and leakage plugging.

Villagers同期声: "There's no water all year round. The old lady went to the river to fetch water and fell down and broke her leg. Now she has been lying on the bed all day. Now there's no water to drink."

Faced with this situation, some villagers ran more than two miles to the neighboring village to fetch water, while others who had no other way out simply fetched river water for drinking, but these were not long-term solutions. Then what are the reasons for the villagers' lack of water? The reporter found the water plant that supplies water to Yandian Village. A water pipe manager told the reporter like this.

Water plant water pipe manager同期声: "Because when the pipes were built, they were contracted to individuals, and after the contract, they did not expect so many users. Now that the number of users has increased, the current pipe diameter is not enough, which makes it difficult to supply water. This is one of the reasons." (Reporter: "Is there any solution?") "The solution is to strengthen management, and also to upgrade the pipes where they are too narrow, updating the pipelines would be better."

With the solution in sight, what the villagers are most concerned about is when it will be implemented. For this purpose, the reporter contacted a responsible person of the Linhai Town Government by phone.

Phone interview: Deputy Town Mayor of Linhai Town, Sheyang County, Cao Jun: "This morning we already held a meeting, inviting the Poverty Alleviation Association and the village secretary. In the next few days, we will extend the water supply time to ensure they have water to drink. Secondly, because the village committee is recently changing leadership, after the change, we will go to the village together to raise funds."

(Reporter: "When can this issue be completely resolved?")

"Within about a week, there should be a clear answer."

Editorial: Since the town government has come up with a solution to the problem, we have every reason to believe that the water supply to the villagers' homes will be restored soon.
