Xinhua News Agency, December 1st message (by Duan Jingfang): On November 30th, the开机ceremony for the movie "Tang Bohu Dian Qiuxiang 2" was held in Beijing. The supervisor Hsiang Hua-sheng, producer Xiao Kai, director Li Lichih, and the main creative team of the film all made appearances. With the announcement of the "Four Great Talents" — Zhou Libo, Ren Xianqi, Chen Baixiang, and Huang Xiaoming, the final selections for the lead roles of "Tang Bohu" and "Qiuxiang" were also revealed as Huang Xiaoming and Zhang Jingchu. The entire press conference passed by in a light-hearted and humorous atmosphere.

At the press conference, the final four talents were announced. Tang Bohu will be played by the currently popular Huang Xiaoming, while the other three talented characters will be portrayed by the equally anticipated Zhou Libo, Ren Xianqi, and Chen Baixiang. Even before filming began, the Four Great Talents couldn't wait to start teasing each other on-site. Founder of the Shanghai-style Qingkou comedy, Zhou Libo, turned the press conference into his own performance stage, describing the four with words such as "熟" (mature), "纯" (pure), "帅" (handsome), and "妖" (charming). He claimed that Huang Xiaoming is his favorite actor and even mimicked one of Huang's songs while dancing to a passionate Rumba. As the male lead, Huang Xiaoming didn’t fall behind, responding to Zhou Libo with a joke about not performing at the Spring Festival Gala. When asked if he had the confidence to surpass Stephen Chow’s portrayal of Tang Bohu in the original movie, Huang Xiaoming said that Chow is the "King of Comedy," and he is merely the "Little King of Comedy": "I believe classics are irreplaceable, but I have confidence in creating an even more interesting Tang Bohu."

To align with the theme of the movie, the event organizers specially set up a "Dian Qiuxiang" segment where lucky audience members selected from across the country and media present jointly participated and shared in a ten-thousand-yuan cash prize. After an exciting game session, the actor playing Tang Bohu, Huang Xiaoming, finally lifted the "mysterious red veil" covering Zhang Jingchu's head. Huang Xiaoming claimed that the two had met several years ago while shooting a commercial advertisement but never had the opportunity to collaborate on a film: "It's an honor to co-star with such a beautiful Qiuxiang." Zhang Jingchu had never previously acted in a costume drama. She expressed her luck in simultaneously fulfilling her wishes to act in a costume drama, a comedy, and an action film: "When I tried on my costume yesterday, I was very satisfied with my appearance and am eagerly looking forward to portraying Qiuxiang." In addition, she revealed that apart from scenes involving poetry and painting in "Tang Bohu Dian Qiuxiang 2," there would also be some dance sequences, and she along with the other actors had already started practicing calligraphy, painting, and dancing.
