The average supply-demand ratio was 20:1 (Wang Zhe Tian Xiu Zhe) By the night of May 8, the application period for this year's national recruitment of outstanding university graduates to work in rural areas as "village officials" had concluded. A total of 183,000 applicants competed for 9,030 "village official" positions, resulting in an average supply-demand ratio of 20:1. This information was obtained today from the Provincial Organization Department.
Due to the less-than-ideal employment situation this year, the favorable treatment offered to "village officials" has caught the attention of many students. The application data shows that the number of postgraduate students, undergraduate students, student party members, and student cadres who applied has significantly increased compared to previous years. Among them, there were 855 postgraduate students, 50,661 undergraduate students, 24,172 ordinary students, and 17,245 student party members.
According to relevant personnel from the Provincial Organization Department, the enthusiasm for applications stems from employment pressure and also from a series of policies introduced by the province to guide university graduates towards grassroots employment. University graduates recruited to work in villages will have their salaries implemented according to the policy for full-time employees of public institutions in the locality. "Village officials" who meet the conditions for civil service or public institution exams or participate in graduate school entrance exams can enjoy preferential policies such as bonus points. This year, a new regulation called the "Two 70%" rule for recruiting grassroots agricultural workers was introduced, meaning that among the civil servants and public institution employees recruited by towns (streets), excellent village (community) officials should account for at least 70% of the recruitment plan, with excellent undergraduate student village officials accounting for at least 70% of the recruited village (community) officials. Additionally, measures such as establishing a "village official" entrepreneurship fund for students have been promoted.
