Li Xiaoli reported: After 18 consecutive weeks of price increases, Guangzhou bottled gas officially surpassed the 100-yuan mark yesterday —— a 15-kilogram bottle of gas was priced at 103 yuan, plus an additional three to four yuan for delivery fees, meaning citizens had to spend a full 107 yuan to buy a single bottle of gas.

"Prices increase every two or three days, each time by two or three yuan," sighed an employee at a bottled gas store. "The wholesale price has gone up, and there's nothing we can do about it. At this rate, prices are likely to keep rising." The Guangdong Oil and Gas Chamber of Commerce predicted that high prices would persist for some time. Besides the rise in upstream gas prices and the traditional winter peak season for gas usage, the cold weather has also been a significant factor driving up liquefied gas prices. The Provincial Price Bureau also forecasted that the average price of bottled gas would continue to rise.
