NetEase Auto, November 24th, Guangzhou - Supercars are always an indispensable highlight at auto shows. Every year at the Guangzhou Auto Show, there is always one exhibition hall that draws the most people because it gathers together super luxury cars and supercars that are rarely seen in everyday life, including Ferrari, Maserati, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Bentley, Aston Martin, and others. However, we've noticed today that apart from these familiar supercar manufacturers, some regular passenger vehicle manufacturers have also started to test the waters with supercars. Below, let's take a look at the supercars showcased at this year's auto show.

Infiniti Essence

Perhaps listing the Essence as a supercar might be a bit of a stretch, since the Essence is still in the concept car stage. But as a Japanese passenger vehicle company, launching such a car is no small feat.

The Essence concept car, born to celebrate Infiniti's 20th anniversary, made its Asian debut at this year's auto show. The Infiniti Essence concept car was first unveiled at this year's Geneva Motor Show. It is a hybrid concept car co-designed by Infiniti and Louis Vuitton (LV), making its Asian debut at this year's Guangzhou Auto Show.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the Essence concept car measures 4720mm long x 1960mm wide x 1310mm high with a wheelbase of 2800mm. From the pictures, the Essence features a long engine hood and a simple tail design, giving it a resemblance to the Maserati GT series, with very elegant lines.

In terms of power, the Essence is Infiniti's first hybrid sedan. It uses a parallel hybrid system combining a gasoline engine and an electric motor to drive the rear wheels. It is equipped with the 3.7-liter VQ series engine from the G37 model, along with two turbochargers, providing a maximum output of 440 horsepower. Additionally, there is a 3D permanent magnet electric motor installed between the engine and the transmission, which can provide 160 horsepower independently through a lithium battery pack. Although Infiniti has not disclosed detailed information about the electric motor and the battery, it is said that the Essence concept car differs from other hybrid models in that the internal combustion engine and the electric motor on the Essence can simultaneously deliver their maximum power outputs, totaling 600 horsepower, which is quite impressive.
