Strictly speaking, Google started selling online storage space last year, as Google Picasa Web Albums has long had the option for paid capacity upgrades. If you are not satisfied with the capacity of Picasa Web Albums, you can purchase up to 250GB of space. As for Gmail, there is probably nothing we can do, because a normal account only has a capacity of 2.82GB (2886MB). However, things are different now, because Google officially announced today that it has begun selling online storage space, and this space can be shared across multiple Google services, unlike the previous Picasa Web Albums which could only be used alone.
