The story of "Battle at Shama Town" takes place in a legendary northwest Chinese town, Shama Town, lost on the map. A group of well-equipped international thieves come here for a little-known treasure and engage in a lively desert blood battle with Sun Honglei's treasure protection squad. Not only do they compete wits and courage, but they also bring out much fun. In the 1930s, Hu Shuanzi-led bandits rampaged across the northwest desert and stole a huge amount of treasure from the Western Xia King's Mausoleum. To keep the treasure all to himself, the bloodthirsty Hu Shuanzi killed all his men. And with his death, the clue to the treasure disappeared. Time flies. Nowadays, Tang, the current village official, plans to build a resort named after bandit culture to prosper the local rural economy and provide a permanent industry for the whole town based on the legend of the early bandits hiding treasures. Under Old Tang's instigation, all townsfolk have been mobilized: some transform their own homes into guesthouses, some decorate their yards into wine bars and massage rooms, and others organize performances of bandit robbery shows. However, despite all the hustle and bustle stirred up by Old Tang, no tourists have come, which makes Old Tang very anxious. He collects old things from all the townsfolk's homes and finds a TV appraisal show, hoping that experts can find an object left by the bandits as a promotional selling point. But the expert's appraisal greatly disappoints Old Tang. The old things he carried are all worthless junk in the eyes of the experts. However, this pile of junk catches the attention of a cultural relic dealer, Da Cui. Da Cui finds that one of the copper plates among the junk might be a clue left behind by the early bandits who hid the treasure. Battle at Shama Town.
