The new autumn TV series "Cat and Mouse Game" will premiere on a certain day. This is a pretty interesting show. The quality of several recent new series has been very good. Although the type is still the American-favorite crime investigation, there are new elements in its form. The story tells of two men who join forces to investigate top-level cases and capture the most cunning criminals. One is a master of fraud, while the other is a detective specializing in catching fraudsters. They had no possibility of cooperation originally, but it turns out they work well together. Aside from frequently arguing due to differing opinions, one plays as a handsome but notorious swindler who recently escaped successfully from the highest security federal prison. The other plays as an excellent detective who is the sworn enemy of the former, letting him escape after capturing him for his own plans. Another character plays as the wife of the swindler, who is strong-willed yet understanding. Yet another plays as the friend and informer of the swindler, always notifying them first of anything happening on the streets to assist in catching bad guys.
The reason this series is called "Cat and Mouse Game" is because all the cases involved in the show are high-tech crimes or intelligent crimes, incomparable to street robberies or petty thefts that only require hands and not brains. Like the multi-clue fraud case described in a recent episode of "Psych," which falls under this category. In this drama, the fraudster is portrayed as an expert in criminology. He can forge various documents and papers, quickly identify the patterns on banknotes with just a glance, and easily escape from a highly guarded maximum-security prison. On the surface, he appears as a gentle and eloquent conversationalist who talks politely and is very talkative. Everyone thinks he's a genius who can never be caught.
On the other hand, the detective is portrayed as a dedicated, enthusiastic, hardworking individual with a spirit of dedication. He is also a genius, whose talent mainly manifests in his observational skills and judgment. He can see through all the tricks of criminals and predict their thoughts and actions in advance. However, the poor detective can't figure out one thing: what kind of wedding anniversary gift should he buy for his wife?
