Time Thief

The film depicts a British child embarking on a time-travel adventure with six dwarves led by a Time Bandit, experiencing several interesting stories. It is an early work of director Terry Gilliam, known for its rich imagination and science fiction elements. The plot describes a kid, who usually gets nagged by his parents at home, suddenly encountering six small people one day. These six little people have stolen a so-called time map from their master that can cross time and space. Thus, the child sets off with these six dwarves on a thrilling treasure hunt across time and space. The characters and events in this movie are quite diverse, ranging from Napoleon to the Titanic, and even some bizarre monsters appear. In particular, the overall atmosphere is filled with a touch of darkness, and the excellent camera techniques ensure there's no dull moment in the film. There are many guest stars, including Sean Connery and Shelley Duvall. Unfortunately, the handling of the entire film is more serious and conventional, leaning towards the typical cold tone of British films, not as lively and colorful as Hollywood movies. The movie special effects also do not have particularly stunning performances.
