Battle of Taiyuan

This year marks the anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, as well as the anniversary of the liberation of Taiyuan. The liberation of Taiyuan was the most prolonged, intense, and costly urban offensive campaign in the Liberation War. To solemnly commemorate the anniversary of Taiyuan's liberation, under the high attention of the provincial Party committee and provincial government leadership, a large-scale documentary film "The Decisive Battle of Taiyuan" was created and filmed by the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Publicity Department of the Municipal Party Committee, and the Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio. This film uses a large amount of little-known real historical materials, combined with interviews of those who experienced the war, to comprehensively and multi-dimensionally trace the historical facts from planning to confrontation on both sides of the conflict. It captures the mental journeys of decision-makers on both sides, as well as many touching war experiences of ordinary soldiers. Additionally, it records the moving scenes of descendants searching for the relatives of fallen martyrs, highlighting profound humanistic sentiments. The film highly praises the revolutionary predecessors who made important contributions and heroic sacrifices for the establishment of New China, and demonstrates the significant political significance and profound historical implications of Taiyuan's liberation for the complete liberation of North China and the whole country. The film has received full affirmation from the Office of the Central Major Theoretical Documentary Film Creation Group and the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television, and has been listed as a major documentary film for nationwide distribution. This film holds extremely important political and practical significance for studying and practicing the scientific development concept, conducting patriotism education, and building a socialist core value system.
