Environmental pollution, population explosion, greenhouse effect, and the wars in the Middle East have brought endless disasters to our already suffering Mother Earth. There are indeed countless factors that continue to destroy her condition. But recently, there's something more ferocious than a mountain collapse, fiercer than chronic erosion, and less plausible than an alien invasion. This thing has directly topped the Earth Crisis Rankings, surpassing all competitors as the number one killer that makes humanity tremble with fear. This destroyer that has swept across the world like a plague is none other than the clan of zombies.
If you still think zombies are just those slow-moving, clumsy creatures, then I'm sorry to say, prepare your coffin because it's time to collect your remains. In just a short month or so, this highly organized and disciplined zombie army has almost engulfed billions of people on Earth. Though survival is tough, it’s not impossible to avoid those undead roaming the streets looking for prey. Teenagers Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) and his violent partner Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) are among the best survivors.
Logically speaking, there couldn’t be two more different people in the world. Columbus looks timid and cowardly, fleeing at the first sign of danger, which has honed his skills in running away. Tallahassee, on the other hand, is fearless, exuding machismo with statements like "Cutting heads is just a bowl-sized scar, and after eighteen years, I'll be a man again!" Despite their contrasting personalities, each has their unique survival methods, making them one of the few human survivors. Thus, when they meet on the street and form a partnership, the clash of personalities creates sparks akin to thunder meeting lightning.
If you were to ask Columbus what the greatest benefit of being a survivor is, he would surely excitedly answer: "Girls come automatically!" Indeed, two sisters preparing to flee to California for safety hop into their car. The older sister Wichita (Emma Stone), not only has a fiery figure but also slays zombies with the same fervor as any man. The younger sister Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) is adorable and precociously smart. With these lively sisters in tow, the unbeatable duo finds more joy on their journey. Facing endless waves of zombies that can't be killed, chopped down, shaken off, or exterminated, what ingenious tactics will they devise?
