Rising Sun

The story takes place in Los Angeles, where the body of a young woman is discovered in the office building of a large Japanese trading company. In order to determine her identity and cause of death, the Los Angeles Police Department assigns experienced detectives to investigate the case. After overcoming numerous difficulties and bringing the truth to light, the perpetrator is brought to justice. However, this is an extraordinarily difficult process. The prime suspect turns out to be a friend of the veteran detective leading the investigation. No matter what the police do, there always seems to be a powerful force opposing them—evidence gets stolen, key individuals are murdered and their bodies made unrecognizable, and even high-ranking senators are extorted.
