The story of Xuncheng Ma takes place in the early years of the Republic in Pánlóng Town in the north. A mysterious man, Xuncheng Ma, steals silver tickets from bandits. Yao hides the tickets in the room where Xuncheng Ma is staying, leading the bandits to mistakenly believe they are accomplices. During the pursuit and attack, Hu saves Xuncheng Ma. In gratitude, Xuncheng Ma must safely deliver four wooden boxes to Luoma Pass within twelve days to the bandit leader Jiao Long. It turns out Hu has already captured Yao's family. As the sun sets and Yao hasn't returned, Xuncheng Ma goes to rescue them, only to discover that the boxes contain machines intended for the massacre of revolutionaries.
