The perplexity of China's Internet

Why is it that the internet, such a promising and emerging thing, doesn't seem to be doing so well for those who work in it? Many of the online companies I know are developing at an average pace. In trying to understand this, I've written down some reflections. At first, I kept doubting whether it was due to the low quality of Chinese internet users, then I lamented how those in the industry sacrifice their health working long hours day in and out, which wasn't worth it. Then I became even more pessimistic, my mood worsened, and I started talking nonsense.

Today, I came across Jian Shuo Wang's article on the current state of China's internet compared to that of the United States by chance.
