Campus Blues

High school interscholastic football is a big community event for the residents of small towns in Texas. On Friday nights, they place all their hopes on the shoulders of this group of seventeen-year-old football players. Jonathan James (played by Vince Ven der Bilt), the understudy behind Lance Paul Walker (played by Stephen Dorff), the quarterback of the Coyotes, is a smart kid who constantly dreams of entering an Ivy League school to escape the small town in Texas. He plays American football purely out of love, but the pressure from his father and the personality clashes with Coach Bud Shank (played by Scott Colomby) always make him feel like he hasn't practiced enough.
