The official website of the new series, Metal Fight Beyblade, has announced that it will premiere in Tokyo on April 1st this year. Battle陀螺 (Beyblade) was originally developed by a Japanese toy company and launched in 2001 as a battling toy. Its influence later extended into the anime realm, being adapted into a full season animated series, a theatrical movie, and a manga. It gained strong reactions among elementary school students, even becoming a social phenomenon during its peak popularity between 2001 and 2004.
In the new series, the protagonist, Galaxy, is a big fan of battle陀螺and continuously trains while seeking out stronger opponents for duels. He also engages in battles against an evil team led by Shield God. Through these battles, he meets Tomya, who looks up to Galaxy as an older brother. Centered around these two characters, their story unfolds as they encounter formidable enemies, leading both to grow technically and spiritually through their battles.
The production lineup for this new series retains the characteristic of generational changes from previous seasons, with different teams taking over the production. This new work is produced by Tatsunoko Production, directed by Kunihiro Sugisawa (who previously directed Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters and King of Thorn), and the series composition continues to be handled by Katsumi Hasegawa from Season 3, who has also written scripts for works like Slayers, Record of Lodoss War, and Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse. The character design is done by Yoshiaki Nagasawa from Season 2, who previously served as animation director for Hayate the Combat Butler and Absolute Boy.
As for voice actors, Galaxy is voiced by Kimura, alongside others such as Satoshi Hino, Takeshi Aono, and Emiiri Kataoka. Metal Fight Beyblade will take over the time slot previously occupied by Network精灵 (Net Ghosts) and premiere in Japan on April 1st. Additionally, a related game for this series is expected to launch on platforms by the end of the month. Fans can look forward to it.
