The film "Yueguang Baohe" tells the story of a fool holding a box traveling from modern times back to the era of Chibi. Lau Chun Wei extracted concepts from "A Chinese Odyssey" and re-wrote the story. In the new movie "Yueguang Baohe," he may once again use his unique martial arts for a time-travel style narrative. From the current list, it seems that several main actors from back then, such as Zixia (played by Fiona Choi), Princess Iron Fan (played by Ada Choi), the blind man Jiang Yuecheng, etc., have reunited in "Yueguang Baohe." This clearly shows that Director Lau Chun Wei wants to give the audience another dose of "A Chinese Odyssey." Due to the name of this film being only one character different from "A Chinese Odyssey," it raises suspicions about their ambiguous relationship. However, the lead male actor Zheng Zhongji denied any resemblance between himself and Zhou Xingchi's previously played character, Sun Wukong.
When asked why he chose the name "Yueguang Baohe," Lau Chun Wei explained that "yue" means "even more" in terms of time travel, which indicates a completely different story from "Yueguang Baohe." He said that "yue" represents even more time travel, and this story is entirely different from "Yueguang Baohe." Although it's not exactly a sequel to "A Chinese Odyssey," the story of this film actually comes from two treasures of Purple Fairy: the Purple-Blue Sword and the Moonlight Treasure Box. Fiona Choi reprised her role as Purple Fairy, but she is just a supporting character. The female lead in this play is Rose Fairy, played by Sun Li. Rose Fairy, admiring the love between Purple Fairy and Sun Wukong, steals the Purple-Blue Sword hoping to find that destined love. She helps the male protagonist, bandit Qing Yisai (played by Zheng Zhongji), obtain the Moonlight Treasure Box, leading to a crazy time-travel story. It can be said that these two fairy beauties tie together the story of "Yueguang Baohe." However, under the direction of the old eccentric Lau Chun Wei, one becomes a flower-crazy person and the other becomes the祥Lin Sao of the fairy world, making them a pair of neurotic fairies. "Yueguang Baohe," "Yueguang Baohe," "Yueguang Baohe."
