Transforming suit
Takuro Ohki, unmarried and striving to manage the small restaurant left by his late mother called "Coeur," is a man of upright character and kind heart with top-notch cooking skills. He even studied in Italy, but despite his many qualities, his plump appearance leaves him without any luck with women. One day, the young and beautiful Kanako arrives at Coeur for an interview, and Takuro instantly falls in love with her. However, after mustering the courage to confess his feelings, he is easily rejected, and Kanako soon leaves the restaurant. Deeply disheartened due to his looks, Takuro finds a strange suit shop near the station and acquires a magical suit that makes him handsome upon wearing it. With the suit, Takuro transforms into "Anri Kuromi," a popular model who radiates charm. Still pining for Kanako, Takuro, now in his transformed state, seeks her out again to confess his feelings, only to be rejected once more.
Though Kanako does not reciprocate his feelings, Takuro, as Anri Kuromi, becomes the center of attention for women. Top model Kaoru begins to approach him, and for the first time in his life, he gains the affection of a beautiful woman, making him feel as if he is dreaming. Back at the small restaurant, Ben-Ei replaces Kanako as the new worker with a cheerful smile. Over time, Ben-Ei, who quietly supports him, gradually enters Takuro's heart. Juggling the dual identities of a restaurant owner and a famous model, Takuro increasingly feels drawn to Anri Kuromi's glamorous life. He discovers that the magical suit reverts him to his original form when wet. Returning to the men's suit shop, the shopkeeper presents a perfect, waterproof suit that cannot be removed once worn. Before Takuro stands an irreversible choice: abandon the companions at Coeur for a life admired by all or remain true to himself as an unpopular fat man.
In another version, Takuro Ohki (played by Takechi Gidayu), single, operates the small restaurant "Coeur" left by his deceased mother. Kind-hearted and pure, he once studied Italian cuisine and excels in cooking but lacks appeal to women. A super-beautiful woman named Kanako (played by Kitagawa Keiko) arrives at Coeur seeking employment, and her every move captivates Takuro. Determined, he confesses his feelings to Kanako but is cruelly rejected, and Kanako subsequently leaves the restaurant.
A friend's impending wedding prompts Takuro to visit a suit shop for the occasion, where he unexpectedly finds a magical suit that transforms him into a handsome man. Wearing this suit, Takuro's face and figure are completely altered, turning him into an unrecognizable, handsome individual. As Anri Kuromi (played by Tanahara Shosuke), he overnight becomes a highly sought-after male model adored by women. Unable to forget Kanako, who has quit working at the store, Takuro transforms into Anri Kuromi and confesses his feelings to her again, only to be rejected once more. The charming Anri Kuromi lives in a world of constant admiration, attracting even the chief model Kaoru (played by Sada Mayumi). For the first time, Takuro wins the affection of a beautiful woman, feeling as though his current life is a dream.
Back at the restaurant, a smiling new assistant named Hon-Ei (played by Oshima Mikoto) replaces Kanako. Though not particularly smart, Hon-Ei performs her duties perfectly, and being with her gives Takuro a sense of stability. Gradually, he starts to care about this girl. Living a double life as both a restaurant owner and a popular model, Takuro is unconsciously attracted to Anri Kuromi's luxurious life, finding his real self's life increasingly bland. One day, water stains the magical suit, and Takuro finds that it wrinkles easily and doesn't look good when wet. He returns to the mysterious suit shop, where the shopkeeper introduces a perfect, waterproof suit. However, once this suit is worn, it can never be taken off. Takuro must make his final choice: discard Coeur and its friends to become the ultra-popular model Anri Kuromi and continue a handsome life, or choose his true identity and accept a life without romantic appeal. At this moment, the long-desired Kanako...
