During the Qing Dynasty, both Shaolin and Wudang had a great number of martial arts experts. Shaolin was dedicated to the cause of overthrowing the Qing and restoring the Ming, while the Wudang擾 chose to serve as henchmen for the Qing government. As a result, the two sects were in an adversarial relationship. Tong Qianjin, a young Manchu who was an orphan since childhood, suffered bullying from his own clansmen and thus harbored deep resentment towards them. He joined Shaolin Temple to learn martial arts, where he connected with fellow disciples like Hu Huiquan to carry out activities aimed at overthrowing the Qing and restoring the Ming. In response, Wudang sent batches of their disciples down the mountain to counteract the Shaolin disciples, leading to encounter after encounter with Tong, sparking wave after wave of intense battles.
