Fanfou - The Chinese Version of Twitter?

Fanfou, similarly adopting the model of cloning Twitter, features a refreshingly clean interface and equally simple operations. However, Fanfou has done a decent job in localization by supporting domestic mobile phone updates, allowing users from China Mobile and China Unicom to post their messages via mobile phones. In terms of instant messaging (IM), Fanfou currently only supports Windows Live Messenger for sending and receiving information. If it aims to capture the majority of basic domestic users, it should eventually offer support for Tencent QQ, as this is the IM with the highest usage rate among domestic users. Nonetheless, this is still acceptable. Currently, there are more users in China using WLM than Gtalk, so whether Fanfou can penetrate the domestic market will depend on its future promotional efforts and integration capabilities. The reason why Twitter has become so popular is mainly due to its user base, and the fact that it provides only the most basic foundational functions. This indicates that capturing the basic layer of users and providing them with convenient fundamental services is the way forward for service-oriented websites.
