When using Gtalk, I added some groups similar to QQ (people from all over the world), which caused other people's chat windows to automatically pop up every time I opened Gtalk. Since they were talking in neither Chinese nor English, I had no idea what they were saying, and it was quite annoying. If I turned off Gtalk, I worried that my friends wouldn't be able to contact me in a timely manner. But if I removed the group, I felt reluctant to do so. Fortunately, there is a trick: create a new bookmark in Firefox, name it Google Talk, and then fill in the link section with http://talkgadget.google.com/talkgadget/client. Then check the option "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" and just enter any keyword. However, it's not perfect as it doesn't display all the contacts from Gtalk; I still have to go to "All Contacts" to find them. Nevertheless, it's still worth using.
