Slide effects are the new trend in web design, and the new White House website is no exception. Slide effects (also known as "carousel") are particularly suitable for showcasing some core, presentation-oriented content in the prime position of a site. Early slide effects were mostly based on Flash, but as JavaScript has gained more importance in the eyes of web designers and developers, JavaScript-based slide effects have begun to replace Flash.
