Munin Works in Japan has started a trial operation of its barter-based music CD website, Diglog.
Registered users create a list of all the CDs they own on their personal homepage and also input a list of CDs they desire. Diglog will then search for corresponding matches.
To receive a CD you want from another user, you must first send one of your own CDs to a different user. Once your sent CD is received, another user will send you the CD you desire. The number of CDs you can receive is equal to the number of CDs you send out.
For more details about its operational method: Method
Diglog charges 300 yen per CD received, but only 150 yen per CD sent. If you send out two CDs, you can receive one CD for free.
The envelopes or boxes needed for mailing CDs are provided free of charge by Diglog, but postage stamps must be covered by the user.
Currently, Diglog is limited to 100 registered users, but regular beta operations will begin after the Chinese New Year.
