Today, I got an old UT-505 from a friend. I installed many drivers for UT-505 that were claimed online, but none of them worked. Out of frustration, I decided to take it apart to see what was really going on. To my surprise, I found that it used the ZC0301PLH chip, which requires different drivers than the ZC0301PL used in most webcams. This explains why the universal drivers didn't work properly.
