On September 24, Alipay (China) Network Technology Co., Ltd. released an announcement for Firefox users, officially launching a Firefox add-on named "Alipay Security Control (AliPay Security Control)," beginning support for non-IE core browsers to facilitate online shopping and financial settlements for more users.
In July 2007, Alipay issued a statement: Due to the inability of Firefox and other non-IE core browser users to normally install the Alipay security control when accessing the Alipay website, considering access security, Alipay decided to close access permissions for Firefox, Opera, and other non-IE core browser users starting from August 15, 2007.
After a year, due to strong appeals from many Firefox users and the demands of numerous non-IE users, Alipay has specially launched a security control that supports Firefox. It is reported that support for Firefox under the Linux platform is currently in internal testing and is expected to be released in the near future.
It is understood that the "Alipay Security Control" is a specifically developed control product targeting the Firefox core to protect user password security. In conjunction with Alipay's cartoon feature, it solves the problem of being unable to recharge via online banking when using Firefox. Furthermore, through free mobile dynamic passwords, it addresses the issue of being unable to use certificates for enhanced verification. Users only need to download and install the "Alipay Security Control" in Firefox to ensure normal usage of Alipay.
Alipay Executive President Xiaofeng Shao stated, "We respect every browser brand and operational terminal, and we respect the choices of our users even more." Dr. Lihong Gong, Chairman and CEO of Beijing Mozilla Online Co., Ltd., also expressed, "We have been striving to provide better products and services for Chinese internet users and hope to achieve greater breakthroughs within the year."
