PhpWind "UU1001.com" challenges Discuz "5d6d.com", quite lively...

"uu1001.com" PK "5d6d.com". Recently, I haven't been playing around much in forums, so relatively speaking, I've been paying less attention to some developments in this area. However, the two big forum programs in China have made new moves: Dz (Discuz!) with 5d6d.com and PW (PhpWind) with uu1001.com!

These two platforms respectively offer free forum services for novice users provided by DZ and PW~ allowing the public to play with forums. It operates on a similar model to topzj, providing users with a free forum! But I'm here just for the spectacle... The technology and concept aren't anything new, they're even outdated to the point of being worn out.

A few days ago, I noticed that PW had someone (possibly a shill) promoting uu1001.com across various forums or through media reports! So, I went to check it out~ There wasn't much innovation, and the technology wasn't new either. Thus, I left it at that. Today, I accidentally came across DZ's 5d6d.com, which made me curious and enlightened. I quickly checked the dates when DZ and PW respectively announced these platforms:

From the announcement post dates, DZ launched this platform later than PW, meaning DZ's move could possibly be an imitation of PW! However, imitation has always been PW's style. I noticed a sentence on DZ's announcement post: "Starting from today, we officially release our free forum hosting service (Free Forum Hosting Services) that has been online tested for nearly a month, launching the 'My Territory' (5d6d.com) website, further lowering the threshold for general netizens to use community applications." This statement proves that DZ had already been testing their system a month ago! On the other hand, PW did not provide any such explanation, likely having launched directly without a beta test, which could explain why it was released two days earlier than DZ's official version...

At this point, I don't know what else to say. Some people say that PW is a program made by a group of inexperienced kids. This isn't about their technical ability. While competition in an industry is important... resorting to such methods for competition reaches a regrettable level...
