Maxthon 2.0 Beta1 Version Released

Finally, the day has come. Below is the explanation from Maxthon about the features of version 2.0 and the updates in this release.

Key features of Maxthon 2.0:

1. Maxthon Smart Acceleration (MSA) function

This can significantly improve web browsing speed when the internet connection is slow.

2. Powerful advanced filtering system

By writing custom filter rules, you can filter out almost any element on a webpage.

3. More flexible interface settings

Through customization, every user can have their own personalized interface.

4. UI multi-threading technology

Each tab occupies an independent thread, effectively reducing the chance of freezing.

5. Online bookmark service

Save your online bookmarks so you can access them anytime, anywhere.

The following updates have been made compared to the last preview version:

New features:

1. Added the Maxthon Smart Acceleration (MSA) function. This function can noticeably improve browsing speed. The beta version has this feature enabled by default, but it can be disabled in Settings -> Advanced.

2. Added Super Smart Acceleration function. This function further enhances browsing speed based on MSA but may cause some issues. Users can choose to use this function on certain websites. To enable this feature, click the lightning button on the status bar.

3. Added Flash Forward/Backward function. This can also be disabled in the advanced settings.

4. Added custom mouse gesture functionality.

5. Added automatic plugin execution function. Set up in Plugin Management.

6. Added plugin toolbar and popular plugin recommendation functions.

7. Plugin settings window supports custom titles.

8. Preliminary support for Vista system's glass effect. This function still needs improvement.

Improved features:

1. Fixed the issue where restoring from minimized causes some pages' scrollbars to return to their initial position.

2. The function to select Java Virtual Machine now works.

3. The option to check if Maxthon is set as the default browser upon startup now works.

4. The display of site custom icon settings now works.

5. Resolved the problem with inputting special characters in German and other languages.
