Although Jim Allchin, the executive in charge of Vista, claimed that Vista was ready, many MVPs did not agree. Windows Shell MVP Sandro Villinger pointed out, "Vista is all good, but it's just not ready yet; it’s only about 6 to 10 weeks away." The UI issues were still very apparent, to the extent that even the best configuration required two seconds to open the Control Panel, "it's like it's been drugged." Robert McLaws' response was even more straightforward -- "hell no," but he also believed that a trade-off needed to be made now because users were eager to experience this new operating system. Additionally, some expressed concern about driver issues. However, many MVPs believed that minor problems in certain parts could be fixed later, so the RTM version we receive might still have these flaws because "no software is perfect."
