Do you remember the wine that was originally scheduled to be released on June 1st? After being delayed and following several RC versions, the software—wine, which has been in development for 15 years, was finally officially released on June 17th. It's definitely worth celebrating! If you still don't know what wine is, you can check out the introduction to wine below; there's also a download link for wine at the end.

When you're just starting with Linux, it’s hard to avoid needing to use Windows program resources from time to time. Wine provides a platform for running Windows programs. Wine (which stands for "Wine Is Not an Emulator," meaning Wine is not just an emulator) is a set of Windows APIs (application programming interfaces) that runs on XWindows and Unix systems. You could also think of Wine as a Windows compatibility layer.
