He is called Xiaoyang, 31 years old this year, from Shandong.
At the age of 19, after graduating from high school, Xiaoyang came to Ningbo to work with his sister. Due to his diligence and intelligence, in 2001, Xiaoyang started his own company doing logistics business.
After several years, Xiaoyang's business flourished, his net worth reached several million yuan, and he bought two houses in Ningbo. Even his brother, who graduated with a master's degree, was recruited by him to operate the company together.
However, a car accident in the early hours of May 2006 changed Xiaoyang's life forever.
That day, he and his friends had dinner in Beilun and then began playing cards.
Before 1 o'clock in the morning, Xiaoyang drove his Honda CRV back to his home in Ningbo. On the way, near the Xinhui intersection of Century Avenue, a middle-aged man suddenly rode his bicycle across the zebra crossing. Unable to avoid him, the car hit the man, who fell to the ground. Feeling that the man was seriously injured, Xiaoyang was scared and drove away from the scene.
That night, Xiaoyang parked his car in his parking spot in the community.
Later, the man died from his injuries. At the time of the incident, the deflector plate of Xiaoyang's car was left at the scene. The police traced the model of the offending vehicle according to this clue and subsequently investigated vehicles of the same model at 4S stores and other places.
The lie of his brother
Two days later, Xiaoyang specially bought a container at the Beilun port, put the car inside the container, and took 700 thousand yuan in cash and bank cards, hastily packing a few clothes before rushing to Guangzhou.
The police asked Xiaoyang's brother for information, and Xiaoyang's brother said that Xiaoyang went on a business trip out of town and took the car with him.
Due to insufficient evidence, the police did not suspect too much.
However, soon after, the police found evidence that Xiaoyang's car had appeared in the urban area, and Xiaoyang was quickly identified as an important suspect.
During his escape, he got married, had children, bought a house, and settled down.
After going to Guangzhou, Xiaoyang could never feel at ease. Over the years, he changed his name and identity, successively going to Guangdong, Shaanxi, Gansu, Xinjiang, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, and seven other provinces and regions.
In Xinjiang, he met a girl who had just graduated from university and was quite pretty. They fell in love, got married, and because he was still a fugitive, they didn't have a wedding banquet but got married directly.
In 2007, Xiaoyang went to Kunming and felt that the railway logistics business was good. He found a company and worked for them. At that time, the money he brought with him was still 500 thousand yuan.
