Morning Exercise Notice for Beijing Outward Bound Training

The morning exercise segment in Beijing Outward Bound training refers to an all-body workout warm-up activity arranged after waking up on the second morning of a two-day Beijing Outward Bound training. The coaches from the Outward Bound company will conduct physical exercises through activities such as running and games, usually lasting around forty minutes. As the team leader of Beijing BL Outward Bound Company, I have witnessed many teams' morning exercise processes and noticed that some members dislike participating in these activities, viewing them as arduous and laborious, leading to significant resistance. Some members even skip the exercises entirely, claiming discomforts like stomachaches or fevers to their coaches, asking other teammates to ask for leave on their behalf.

However, morning exercises are beneficial for the body, promoting metabolism and boosting immunity during outward bound trainings. They also enhance brain activity, improve endurance and coordination, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Below is a detailed introduction to the benefits of morning exercises:

Firstly, it's best to conduct morning exercises before breakfast. After meals, blood flows largely to the digestive system; if one exercises immediately after eating, the blood will flow to the limbs instead, affecting digestion. Additionally, proper morning exercises serve as adequate warm-ups for subsequent outward bound projects. By mobilizing various joints, we can prevent old injuries from recurring and reduce the risk of joint-related injuries. For instance, during an outward bound training session with middle and senior-level leaders from Jin Baiwan Catering, one member suffered a strained waist due to insufficient warm-up activities during the first outward bound project. Consequently, he could only sit aside watching others participate. According to this member, his waist frequently got strained because of an old injury from a severe fall while playing football in the past. Although X-rays showed no bone issues, he often experiences pain when engaging in strenuous activities without proper warm-ups. If he had warmed up sufficiently, he could have avoided the recurrence of the old injury and participated normally in the outward bound activities. Unfortunately, he could only be a spectator during this event, missing out on the experience of outward bound training and looking forward to the next opportunity.

Secondly, in case of foggy, rainy, or snowy weather, morning exercises should be moved indoors. Fog contains many harmful substances that can easily be inhaled by people outdoors, causing adverse effects on the lungs. Rainy or snowy weather results in slippery roads, increasing the likelihood of falls, soiling our clothes, and potentially causing colds. Therefore, we should choose a sufficiently large indoor venue for morning exercises, avoiding any possible dangers brought by adverse weather conditions.

Thirdly, since most people seldom exercise regularly, coaches will arrange exercise intensities suitable for different individuals based on their physical conditions. Generally, the duration of morning exercises should be controlled at around forty minutes for optimal effectiveness.

Fully engaging in the morning exercise segment during outward bound activities holds significant importance for the entire program. Morning exercises ensure that all our joints move flexibly, reducing the risk of joint injuries. Thus, every participant in outward bound trainings should actively participate in morning exercises, eliminating any resistant attitudes. Whether it's morning exercises or pre-project warm-ups, they provide basic safety guarantees for each member. We hope all participants take these seriously and prepare adequately for the successful completion of the outward bound activities.
