Approved by the Ministry of Health (Letter [2006] No.162), under the strong support from the Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, etc., with the name of the conference written by Academician Wu Jieping, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the "Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Forum" jointly organized by the China International Medical Exchange Foundation and the Chinese National Health Association has been successfully held four times. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a treasure of the Chinese nation and an important manifestation of Chinese culture. With its heavy cultural heritage and medical model, TCM is increasingly understood by people around the world, and the services provided by TCM are increasingly accepted by people in various countries. The trend of TCM going global and influencing the world is becoming a historical tide. On the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the founding of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Forum, the China International Medical Exchange Foundation and the Chinese National Health Association decided to jointly host the "5th Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Forum and TCM Going Global (Beijing) Summit" in Beijing from June 18-20, 2010.
In addition to in-depth discussions on hot issues such as the current situation, challenges, and countermeasures for the development of TCM in our country, inheritance, innovation, and cooperation, this forum will also specifically discuss TCM going global and influencing the world, and edit the "Treasure Mirror of Chinese Medicine" for promotion at home and abroad. Relevant national leaders, leaders of relevant ministries and commissions, and renowned experts and scholars in the field of TCM at home and abroad will be invited to attend the meeting.
