Our staff reporter (Wang Mei, Zheng Aimei, intern Wang Ruifen) reports: Tan Li, who lives in Nanning, Guangxi, came to Xi'an on October 1st to visit friends. Little did anyone know that he would not return, and it has been more than 20 days now with no contact from him. The only communication his family has received was a phone call asking for money, leading them to suspect that he might have fallen victim to a pyramid scheme. On the morning of November 20th, two travel-weary middle-aged men approached the reporter, identifying themselves as Tan Li's uncle and cousin. They explained that Tan Li had been in Xi'an for over 20 days with no contact. His grandmother cries daily at home upon hearing about her grandson's disappearance, while his mother and father, worried sick, have stopped eating and drinking and have been hospitalized. On the evening of the 19th, Tan Li’s uncle and cousin arrived in Xi’an hoping to find him. They told reporters that they had previously received a tip-off that Tan Li was at the Baqiao Rehabilitation Hospital. Accompanied by the reporter, they visited the hospital, but the staff informed them that there was no one by the name of Tan Li there. Most patients were locals and accompanied by their families, except for one person from Sichuan who was also accompanied by relatives. With no other leads, the uncle filed a report at the nearby police station, hoping that with the help of the police, they could soon locate Tan Li.
