"You must not give up, continue to track the suspect. I will be back after buying painkillers from the pharmacy." This was the last sentence Liang Yaoqiang said to his colleague Wu Yaoming. At midnight on June 13 this year, Captain Liang Yaoqiang of the 1st Platoon of the Patrol Police Team of Xinhui Branch of Jiangmen Public Security Bureau collapsed at his post due to extreme fatigue causing a cerebral aneurysm rupture and bleeding. He passed away at 12 noon on June 16 after unsuccessful rescue efforts, at only 38 years old. Currently, after research, the Xinhui Public Security Bureau has decided to present Liang Yaoqiang with a First-Class Personal Merit Award.

Liang Yaoqiang had been working overtime for five consecutive days in an undercover operation targeting motorcycle thefts. According to Deputy Captain Liu Peilu of the Xinhui Patrol Police Team, since June this year, there have been frequent cases of motorcycle thefts in the Hui Cheng area south of the river. After attending a training session at the branch, Liang Yaoqiang immediately returned to work, personally leading his team of officers in a non-stop day-and-night operation against motorcycle thefts starting from June 8th.

"Originally, the evening of the 12th was our platoon's rest time, but around 10:30 PM, I received a call from Liang Yaoqiang stating that two suspicious men had appeared and needed immediate deployment of police forces for ambush and tracking," said Political Instructor Wu Yaoming of the 1st Platoon. Subsequently, he arrived with two other officers at the front of Shengxin Department Store to rendezvous with Liang Yaoqiang. About 30 minutes later, they noticed two suspects circling a female motorcycle without an anti-theft lock in front of the Yonghe Soybean Milk Shop. However, just as one of the suspects was about to use a tool to break the lock, two passersby happened to walk by, so the suspects quickly walked towards Gangzhou Square. Liang Yaoqiang and his team continued to track them.

At 11:40 PM, Liang Yaoqiang suddenly felt severe head pain and experienced episodes of darkness in his vision. Wu Yaoming advised him to go home and rest, but he refused. As the headache worsened, Liang decided to buy some painkillers from a nearby pharmacy. He instructed the other three members to act flexibly, aim for catching the suspects red-handed, and report progress to him. He promised to return after purchasing the medication before leaving on foot.

The three members led by Wu Yaoming continued their pursuit until 12:30 AM on the 13th when the two suspects hailed a rented motorcycle heading towards the Nanhu Road direction. Due to the high speed of the vehicle, they couldn't keep up. Subsequently, Wu Yaoming tried calling Liang Yaoqiang to update him on the situation, but the call went unanswered...

It turned out that shortly before midnight, Deputy Captain Chen Tianhong of the Public Security Brigade passed by Dongqing North Road and saw Liang Yaoqiang walking unsteadily. Upon inquiry, Liang mentioned that he suddenly experienced a headache during the ambush, and even after taking medicine, still felt unwell, intending to go home to rest. Seeing his pale face and painful expression, Chen supported him into a nearby shop to rest. Just as they sat down, within five minutes, Liang Yaoqiang suddenly collapsed onto the sofa...

A few minutes later, Liang Yaoqiang was rushed to Xinhui People's Hospital by a 120 ambulance for emergency treatment. The doctors diagnosed him with a ruptured aneurysm, spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage, and central respiratory failure. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, he passed away at 12 noon on the 16th.

Liang Yaoqiang is from Xinhui. Both of his parents are farmers. After graduating from high school, he directly joined the army, honing his combat skills and winning the championship in the 1993 Group Army No. 41 All-Army Sanshou Competition.

Her wish is for her dad to pick her up once from school

"I need to handle something at work, I'll be back later." This was what Liang Yaoqiang told his wife Ruan Jinyi before leaving home that night. As a housewife, Ruan Jinyi, holding her daughter who was still in kindergarten, could hardly believe that her husband was gone.

"Actually, Captain Liang really cares about his gentle wife and obedient daughter," said Political Instructor Wu Yaoming. Whenever he mentioned his wife and daughter, Liang Yaoqiang's face would always be filled with smiles. But due to his busy schedule, the time he could spend with his daughter was extremely limited. Once, while praising his daughter's obedience, Liang asked her what toy she wanted as a reward. The four-year-old girl replied that the greatest reward would be if her father could pick her up once from kindergarten. Because during the two plus years her daughter attended kindergarten, Liang Yaoqiang never managed to find time to pick her up. The only time he took her to school was because he had been on duty overnight and got home just around 7:00 AM, so despite his exhaustion, he insisted on sending her to school before resting. Regarding this, Liang Yaoqiang once told his colleagues that his biggest regret was spending too little time with his daughter...
